And if our dog likes it, that’s all that really matters. This is a solidly built plastic retractable leash. It works well and doesn’t bind up as some of our older retractable leashes have. The fact that our dog enjoys walks and likes to read all the “P-mail” from other dogs allows me to walk along at a steady pace while she stops to smell the flowers and then catch up. The retractable part is a tape with reflective threads so it works great. The handle is a bit on the small side when I’m wearing gloves on cold days but it is OK. It includes a small loop on the handle so you can attach one of those oval shaped dog bag containers. The locking mechanism is smooth and while all plastic it is more than sturdy enough for our 35 pound doggo.

Smaller Profile, Smooth Retraction
I was concerned this might be too light weight for our dog so I ordered the larger weight class. But it is actually better than expected. While I’m not sure it would handle a larger dog, I think it would do well for most dogs under 60lbs, but that is just based on my observations using it with a medium sized dog.The retraction can snap back quickly when empty, but is very smooth with a dog on the leash. You can easily lock and unlock the line as needed as your furry friend inspects all the bushes, “p-mail”, and friends along the way. Our dog barely realizes the leash after a use or two, and now instinctively knows the max limit he can go before he has no more license to roam freely.The leash is stronger than I expected, but if you have an aggressive chewer that needs metal cabling type leashes, this one is not recommended. Our dog was that way but has since stopped and this leash works wonderfully for him.The size is compact & light weight, and will fit most hands, larger hands will struggle a little bit as there is not a lot of extra room for fingers in the handle area. I have large hands but was able to use it okay.

Great Leash for Dogs Who Love to Explore
I just got this retractable leash and my dog, Snoopy, is loving it. The retraction is noticeably smooth, and the leash itself feels surprisingly lightweight. My arm doesn’t get tired even on longer walks! The one-handed brake is super easy to use, which is great for those sudden “Snoopy spotted a squirrel!” moments. I also really appreciate the reflective nylon tape for evening walks, and the 360° tangle-free design has already saved me from the usual leash gymnastics.The clear, shatterproof casing looks modern and sturdy, and overall the whole thing feels well-built. Knowing the company has been doing this for 25 years gives me extra confidence. So far, this leash has made our walks smoother, safer, and a lot more fun. Highly recommend if you have a curious dog who loves to explore!

NOT FOR LARGE DOGS AT ALL.
NOT FOR 85LB DOGS!!!! Maybe 20lb. The leash retracts smoothly and the brake works reliably with one hand. Feels sturdy and comfortable to hold during walks, BUT ONLY FOR SMALLER DOGS. Good value for the money compared to other retractable leashes I’ve tried IF YOU ONLY use this for a small dog.

Functional Leash
There are a lot of things I like about this leash, and a couple things that could be slightly improved.First, this works well. It retracts easily and smoothly. The clasp is easy to hook, and easy to open. The lock controls are simple to operate. I like that this is a smaller size than the other one we have with one exception, I feel like the space for a hand needs to be bigger. For someone with small hands it would work, but for larger hands, or use with gloves it isn’t quite big enough.Secondly, I wish there were reinforcement in the first couple of feet. This works great for a calm dog that doesn’t chew. We have one that it is perfect for, and another younger dog that wants to grab the first bit of leash and feel like she is walking herself. I feel like it would be fairly easy to chew through.Overall, satisfied with this. The price is good, and it functions as it should.
