Product description

How It Works – Community-Based Location Updates, Not Real-Time Tracking

Our Pet Tracker Tag works through Apple Find My and Android Find Hub using Bluetooth. Nearby iPhone or Android devices securely and anonymously help refresh your pet’s last known location. Because updates rely on nearby community devices, this tag does not provide real-time tracking. If you require real-time or continuously precise tracking, you will need a GPS-based device that includes a paid subscription service. In everyday environments—homes, neighborhoods, parks, or places where people and phones are nearby—the network can help provide timely location updates. In very remote, rural, or low-traffic areas, updates may be slower or unavailable due to fewer nearby devices. This tag offers a simple, private, and subscription-free way to locate your pet when they wander, giving peace of mind for daily use.

    Good sense of security.
I’ve actually used the sound of the collar to train a recall response. So when my dog is far away she will know to return and there are snackieTreaties waiting for her! Also no subscription!

Great for finding lost items. Works well on Android at least.
These little trackers are pretty cool. I’m an Android person mostly so this review will be based on the trackers use on that platform. This product arrives in a small box with the tracker encased in a rubber holder with a key ring attachment, a small screwdriver for removing the screws to replace the battery and two manuals, one for Android and one for iOS.For android at least the instructions were already out of date and not especially complete, but that’s likely because this is a rapidly evolving space with Google only recently opening their network up for this sort of use. Setting the device up is actually rather simple, download the Find Hub app from Google on Google Play Store, use your phone to pair the tracker as a bluetooth device (not in the app oddly but this might change) and then it should show up in the app as a device you can track. The app includes a few options for tracking. It’ll show you a map with it’s last known location which can be determined from your phone or any other android phone on the network. Whenever someone passes the tracker with an android phone the tracker sends off a blip and google records that as a location marker with the date and time it was seen. That’s my understanding at least, maybe there’s more technical magic to it than that.Once you are close enough to maybe hear the thing you can make it beep until you find it. Whoever was in charge of setting the volume for this little thing though clearly intended it for use around the home. I can’t imagine trying to hear this beep under a freeway overpass as I tried to recover my lost or missing stuff. It’ll get you close enough to see your bike but not close enough to hear it in a bag. Attached to a remote or hanging off a dog collar you are probably set. There’s also a cool sci-fi real-time tracker deal that shows you the signal strength as you move the phone around in front of you. This actually works pretty great and will get you within a few feet of the device once you are in the right area. Not sure how long the battery is going to last. It’s a pretty standard 2032 watch style battery for which I always have a handful of replacements available. Hopefully the Find Hub sends me a notification when the battery needs replacing, not sure how to test that so we’ll just wait and see.Tested around the house and the thing works like a champ. In negotiations with the wife as to if this goes on the dog collar or the ebike (under the seat, removed from the case, covered in black tape) but I think we just pickup a few more and put em on everything we would like to avoid loosing.Star deducted for the painfully low volume on the beep. I’ve had smaller devices make more noise so I think it would be possible to amp this up a bit.

    Only half working
Only one of the two devices actually turns on. I had to replace the battery in the second one.The sound used to find it is fairly quiet.

    Connects quickly and works flawlessly
The connection process was very quick and simple. I turned the tracker on and my phone saw it within seconds. Once connected it worked exactly as it was supposed to. I was able to set my keys on one room, walk upstairs and have my phone (Android) guide me back to it. It was like playing the hot and cold game. The device is a little bit bulky for adding it to a keychain. All together, it’s almost like having another wireless car key fob on there, only a bit shorter and thinner. Save your instruction manual, since there’s only one button on here and it’s not labeled. If you ever want to turn off, or reset this, you’ll need the manual to look up how to do it.

Great little tracker. Very nice quality and reasonable price. Directions for Android are not good.
So far, this has been useful and simple… mostly.I did have some difficulty getting it paired initially. The directions didn’t really help with Android Pixel 10. It said to download an app called “Find My Device” and install it. Well, there isn’t an app with that name, at least at the time I searched for it. So, the directions were not super helpful. In fact, the directions listed button presses to turn on and off that were not working for me. There were no tones or ring ring as described. Nothing. Silence. Just saying. Then I just opened the Google Android app “Find Hub” which was already installed on my phone. Once I opened that app and somehow turned the tracker on my phone prompted me to pair with it. I believe this is Bluetooth pairing essentially. I clicked pair and boom. All setup. Type in the name and what kind of tracker it is and it’s up and running. It isn’t super loud but still useful to find it. The limitations of the hardware and size make this understandable. I do like the ability to replace the battery. This really is mandatory. I also understand it makes it harder to make a device that can withstand extreme conditions. It’s about balance and compromises sometimes.I can’t speak to the battery life just yet. Not even sure what to expect but the swappable battery is most important for me. It’s easy to replace the battery, having opened it to change the battery when I believed iit might be dead. Turns out it was just the directions not lining up with actual use.I’m only knocking one star for the directions issues. I don’t think the unit itself has any problems. It works great. Just the manual for Android. The Apple manual is likely perfect. I’ve seen it plenty. The tracker comes with a very nice keychain holder. Check the photos. It looks and feels nice in the hand. I do like it.Price is very good for the quality and performance. It’s cheaper than many but the quality is quite nice. Considering all of this I consider it a relative bargain at the current asking price of $15 (for 1).
