Excellent all around
I’ve tried many feeders and the dogness 9L is above the rest.It holds a lot of food which is harder to find, it comes in white which is great and it couldn’t be easier to program. You don’t need directions, it’s so simple and fail proof.You can record something to play at feeding time and the recording is crisp and clean sound. The feeder sits on the bowl so the bowl can’t be moved or pulled out without lifting the whole feeder up. I like That, makes it secure .I use this feeder for a feral cat feeding station and I’ve tried 3 other brands of feeders and dogness was the ONLY one that is still working . It’s reliable and seems to do ok outdoors in a protected/ covered environment.I am hoping the company will make an outdoor auto feeder that is weather proof / UV resistent and have the ability to be either screwed / nailed down to something or against something to make it theft resistent.I know many feral cat colony care takers that have to go every single day to feed the cats and this feeder in an outdoor version could really help them.I’m very excited about this feeder.If I would change anything, I’d make it wider vs taller.It’s a reliable feeder that looks sleek and is super simple to program.Perhaps if this reviews gets a lot of likes the company will make an outdoor version 🙂

Bought this for my parent’s schnauzer who is VERY food motivated and would wake up the house every morning for her meals. This has worked like a charm. It was easy to set up and doesn’t need a phone app. It just needs to be programmed and plugged in which was perfect. My parents were thrilled with the gift.

Reliable Feeding Solution for Busy Pet Owners

Before buying this product, I had to fill my dog’s food bowl more than usual, which sometimes made him eat more than he needed. But now by setting the time of this device, when my dog needs food, the food will be available to him as much as he needs. A great option for homes with pets. Carefree. Can be used with electricity and batteries. You can record your voice, and at the time of pouring food, the pet will receive its food by hearing your voice. Be sure to try it and you will see how much easier it makes your work.

I’ve had this nearly a year now, it’s perfect!
I’ve had this automatic dog feeder for close to a year now. I can honestly say that it has worked perfectly the entire time and has never had a single issue with dispensing the food. The initial setup requires some trial and error to figure out the perfect feeding quantities. My dog was previously eating two meals per day. I switched it up to three meals per day with this auto feeder so that each meal was the perfect quantity to fit in the bowl without it backing up. I have the feeder dispensing 4 servings per meal. That equals the recommended amount of food for my dog per the bag of food. I also have a large dog, over 80 lb, with larger kibble size. I do not have any issues with it clogging the feeder or dispensing. The best part is that you can record your voice calling your dog to come and eat. It repeats your recorded phrase three times as it is dispensing the food. The reservoir holds a lot of food! I don’t keep track of how often I fill it, but definitely not more than once a week. No matter what my schedule looks like, I know my dog is being fed on time and the perfect amount! I love this feeder!

Not good for large dogs or for specific measurements over 2 cups a day
My chubby labradoodle needs 3 cups of food a day. I bought this for portion control and to make sure we were only feeding her once per day because sometimes my kids or spouse and I would all feed her and that’s how we got into this thiccc situation. I carefully measured out the amount and made sure it was dispensing at the desired time(s) however the proper amount of food could not dispense unless I manually moved it out of the way as it was dispensing due to backup. The attached bowl is too small for the amount of food she needs so unless she eats periodically during the day -she doesn’t- this dispenser cannot ever dispense the amount of food she needs in one day without getting clogged. It will leave her starving. This is a major manufacturing error. I’ve also noticed it is not reliable in regards to the amount dispensed even when the food is scooted out of the way. It is all around unreliable for a dog. I am probably going to have to return this unless I end up using it for my cat.

9L unit, older model, no camera. Auger gets stuck & won’t drop food
Like the unit itself, easy to program. Outside on the patio under cover. Great for larger dog food & size is great for storage however, 2 times the auger stuck & it won’t feed. First time earwigs got up in there, second time not sure at this point we got home late & had to feed her, food never went down poor girl.. Not good when you go out of town & the doggie was not fed. Had it for 2 years. Looking for another one with an app to make sure it’s working properly. At least I can have a neighbor check if it does stop it let’s you know so she can eat. Other than that it works great.

Dinner back on schedule!
I bought this because my schedule is going thru a transition and my doggo was not getting dinner at his regular time. He would be anxious when I got home much later. This has solved that issue. I love that It is super easy to program, lots of options, has nice big bowl and container that stores the kibble. Note this is probably because it’s actually for dogs and not a cat feeder trying to sold as a dog one. His kibble is not giant by any means, but this unit works great! I highly recommend it.
