We had the older flexi giant 26′ for our 9 pound chavocho. After 2 years it was starting to get worn down, so we upgraded to Flexi Extreme L, 26′. We also separately purchased the FLEXI Multi Box, and FLEXI LED Lighting System, to go with it.With the leash spindle now fully enclosed, I don’t have to worry about a drop damaging the spindle. Or a hanging bad dispenser or bag, scratching against the spindle, like I would with the older flexi giant.With flexi giant, the leash would occasionally jam, so far that hasn’t been an issue with jam on the improved design of the Flexi Extreme.The black ‘protective belt’ at the start of the leash does a great job of hiding dirt. Long as you don’t touch the bright orange portion of the leash. It should look new much longer than other designs that don’t include the protective belt.The break, and lock on the flexi extreme are about the same as the old design in function. It’s a hard complete stop. It doesn’t grind as much as the older flexi giant. But when locked, every time the leash is fully extended against the lock, you will hear a clunk of plastic, against plastic. It’s not really noticeable during normal stop use, but if you have it locked at a short length for an extended period of time, and your dog is constantly pulling, the constant clunks can be noticeable.The redesigned handle, and button placement is very ergonomic. I find it very comfortable to hold, and use. But the lock is further away, which can be hard to reach for people with smaller thumbs.I was worth adding the FLEXI Multi Box to the Flexi Extreme. It just slides on, and locks into place. It hasn’t fallen off, or anything. It’s been a great bag holder. And it doesn’t rattle around like an a Velcro on bag holder. I didn’t realize from the pictures, but there is a door on both side of the ‘Multi Box’, so it’s ambitious. There is also a small rubber peace at the bottom of the ‘Multi Box’ you can remove. When the rubber is removed, the exposed hole makes it easy to pull bags. So far, I haven’t had an issue any brand of bags. We used about 7 bands of doggy bags with it without issue.So the FLEXI LED includes 1 Velcro sticker to attach to your leash. And the LED just attached to the sticker by Velcro sticker. The light is about as brighter then my iphone. But because it’s on the leash, it’s much easier to use. Allowing me to keep one hand free. Making it easier to do pup duty, or just see what’s going on around me at night time walks. I get about 7 hours of use off a single charge. It’s charged via USB. But you do need a usb c cable, and charger to charge it. The device includes a small rubber plug you can use to cover the USB hole on the device. But it’s hard to get in, and out due to the peace of rubber that hold the plug to the device. The rubber plug ended up breaking off after the 4th charge. So far that hasn’t been an issue, but we haven’t had to deal with any rain, or sprinklers.All in all, I would say it’s a great improvement over the old design. At some point I hope they consider offering it in some bright neon colors. It would also be great if they offered it in a longer length, like 30′. If they added a small peace of soft rubber, maybe they could get rid of the clunk when the leash is locked, and the dog is pulling. It would also be useful if there was an attachment ring on the base. So you could easily clip it onto a bag, backpack, purse, belt, sling, extra, or clip the leash back onto itself and wear it like a purse.

The best dog leash we’ve ever used.
We’ve been using a regular leash until now, but decided to try this, and are very impressed with its quality and convenience. It is very well constructed, and works flawlessly. We also ordered the accompanying light and litter bag holder, and they integrate perfectly with the leash. Even the grip is adjustable for different sized hands. Highly recommend this, and the accoumpanying accessories.

GREAT TRAINING TOOL
I have small hands and was worried buying the large size Extreme would be too bulky and heavy. It fit my hand fine and it was very balanced where it felt lightweight and no effort to hold. However, when my puppy bolted, my relaxed grip let go. The clanging noise of the handle against the ground startled her to stop, allowing me to pick up. Learned to securely grip better.I use it mainly for training. I toss a ball and guide my GSD pup back to me for a reward. No more chasing to retrieve the ball. I also use it to train my pup to come when called. Loose 25 ft leash was a pain in the neck, constantly getting tangled and folding up to call my pup each time. This retractable dog leash is God sent in automatically coiling back when pup returns. This makes training enjoyable. Great for teaching stay, walking off, and still having the safety of controlling pup if it bolts.I like the options of temporarily and permanently stopping the leash to shorter distances. It puts no strain on my hand, ergonomic, lightweight, easy thumb control. I also like the bright color making it easy to find.Overall, I am very pleased with this product.

Weak retraction spring easily broken.
Product is garbage and not to be used with medium/large dogs. The internal spring has broken several times. I googled how to fix it and discovered it is a common problem for the the spring to break. Tired of having to fix this thing every couple days. This was the biggest heavy duty one I could find but still crap. My dog is 50lb.
