Grade A Litter Box for a “stand to poop cat”
My cat that will only stand to poop loves this box! I have another 20 pound cat and he will still use it even though he doesn’t have a lot of room to move around it, he just pops his head out of the hole in the top which is indeed large enough for him to get through. My normal sized cats use it just fine and have plenty of room. It does lower the amount of litter being tracked across the room but if you’re cats jump out of the litter box like a rocket just like mine do then of course there’s no stopping litter getting all over the floor. Overall a nice study litter box. Would recommend.

It’s nice and simple. My cats went right in. But use two hands to carefully open the lid.
Update: The box has been toppled over by the cats a couple of times now, perhaps due to being too light on the bottom compared to the top (especially with a cat climbing out of the thing) without more litter. This time it left a nasty smeared poop mess in the box. I guess I would say be aware of this and if you get it, make sure there is a good amount of litter or that it’s placed in a way that the cats won’t topple it! At least it’s pretty easy to clean it.I like it; it’s nice and simple and helps with litter tracking. My cats went right in and had no issues acclimating to using it. It keeps my cats from kicking litter everywhere over the sides of the box. Of course you will still see some stray litter but at least it isn’t a bunch all around the box everyday. My cats are not small but they fit fine. It’s nice and sturdy. I like that I can hook the lid on the side of the box when I scoop. I am using my old scoop and haven’t tried the one that came with this one. It’s a little difficult to take off the lid and I have to use two hands to do it and unsnap one side at a time to prevent the litter that collected on the top from spilling on the floor. I dump the little bit of litter that collected on the top back into the box. It’s still open from the top so keep in mind that if the litter smells, you will still smell it.

Honestly? Saved my litter-ful life turning it into litter-less
I’m really grateful I bought this. My only regret is I havent’ buy one with the sleek design. I would definitely buy the prettier one now that I know my cats are okay with it.So, previously my cats used jumbo litter boxes with front entrance only. Unfortunately for me, they can’t handle cat doors (I don’t know if they both have claustrophobia, but if the litter box door is on, they would never enter it under any circumstances, as if it was a trap), AND they prefer huge amount of pine litter in their box, AND they are both diligent diggers, so I’ve always had tons on litter on the floor, long traces of litter, and they drag that as far as the next room and my bed! Also, what they like to do, is to dig on the bathroom rags nearby, pulling it inside the litter box using their claws, to cover their “suprises”… I got pretty tired of that in several years, so I decided to give the top-entry litter box a try. All of them have mixed reviews on Amazon, unfortunately. I was so afraid my cats won’t take to it that I bought the one with the best rating/looks/price ratio. But they liked it almost instantly. I put it on the floor and put one of my cats inside, and in a second, the deed was done! I was so amazed by how quick she caught up! I left the old litter box in place for the next 3 days, but she consistently chose this one. My other cat was a different deal, he was reluctant to go into the new box at first, so I just removed the old one – and just like that, he had no options! I must say that my cats never go potty anywhere except cat litter (it’s just doesn’t seem natural to them, I guess) and I never have “accidents”, so the experience cat be different for other people. My cats are small/mid-size, both under 15 lbs, so there’s plenty of space for them there in all dimensions. The round hole in the top is big enough to remove contents with the scoop. Regarding a full litter replacement, which we typically do once a week, I can’t do it now by myself, as the box is just too heavy and big – it takes 2 people: one is holding the box and the other one is holding a litter bag. But it’s nothing, really, compared to the fact how clean our bathroom looks now. It’s barely any litter residue on the floor, and my bathroom rags are safe, while the cats can dig and dig as much as they like! For some reason, now they have less litter on their paws – previously I had numerous litter mats, and none worked even satisfactory enough, let alone great. So, just give top litter boxes a try – if it works, you will be wondering how you’ve lived without it for so long!

Reasonable material for such price, arrived without any box just some plastic arround it. I believe the size is fine, even though my cat struggle sometimes jumping since the hole isn’t wide enough, not sure whether cleaning it is easy, but until now I’m satisfied.

I previously used Omega Paw Roll N Clean Self Cleaning Litter Box, Regular, but over the years of buying them, the workmanship became shoddy and they always broke so I was in the market for something new when I saw this on a website and for the first time encountered the idea of a Top Entry litter box. I was immediately intrigued and a little nervous, but I snapped it up on sale to see if this new style would suit me.One of the things that drew me in immediately was the idea of the ease of cleaning. We wash the litter tray out totally weekly and cleaning in the nooks and crannies of an Omega Paw was a huge and stressful job. I thought this bucket-like design would be a cinch to clean and I’m happy to say I was right! It’s so much easier to just tip out all the old litter from this design, straight into a bin bag and wash it out easily in the tub like this (followed by cleaning the bathtub of course!). This is a really simple design and that means it’s lightweight and easy to keep clean. Not every cat will take to this style of tray and I was a little nervous. Ironically, my two cats who I was most concerned about immediately jumped in and loved it and the cat I wasn’t worried about had me very stressed. None of my cats have ever gone outside the litter tray (with the exception of one instance when one ran a dangerously high fever and that’s how I knew she was sick) and I was probably a bit overzealous trying to get my big boy to use it.I was terrified that he was too big for the tray (the tray is very roomy, but he is a huge boy and has weight problems to boot!), but it seemed like he was more nervous about jumping in than anything else. Well, turns out cats can hold it for around two days, so my advice is just to not worry so much. By the middle of the second day he finally gave in and used it (without the lid) and we are slowly working towards adding the lid to get him used to that, once he has some adjustment time. Here’s my advice to those who want their cats to adjust.- Put this litter tray alongside your ordinary tray. Keep this one mostly clean and let the other get a little dirty, as cats love to dirty up a clean tray, since they want their scent on it. Keep an eye on your cat and see if they use it.- If they use it, all is well and you can get rid of the other litter tray.- If they don’t, after a few days, put the other litter tray somewhere they can’t get it and again observe.- At this stage, hopefully they will use the litter tray within two days. If they don’t, you will have to try other things, or just give up on the idea. If they pee on the floor and not in here it could be just not meant for them and you will have to stick to the old tray/style.The only real negative with this tray is that you do have to scoop it more often than a style that rolls like the Omega Paw and if you have multiple cats there is less surface area compared to huge trays, so you might have to scoop more often. Due to the bucket style though, scooping is a lot more comfortable and you can easily lift it onto a shelf or surface to scoop (making sure to disinfect the surface after). There are lots of clever designs traits at work here, some that work amazingly well (Top entry design, hooks for litter scoop, ability to hang lid, easy to clean) and one that doesn’t (the lid looks cool, but my cats jump over it and still leave litter on the floor. It is easy to brush the litter that lands on top back in though.)Overall it’s a really, clever and well-designed tray that has definitely sold me on the idea of top entry trays!

EDIT: Now that my cats are fully grown, they no longer fit in this box once it has litter in it. They stopped using it and went elsewhere. Would not recommend for fully grown cats.My 4 month and 6 month cats use this box and prefer it over the normal box kind. At first it was tricky for the young one to hop in, but she is fine now. I didn’t think they’d like it but we wanted to have less litter everywhere so we tried it – this design contains the litter very well – not 100%, but much better than a normal litter box. Made of a sturdy plastic, and is stable for cats to use.
