Great Food for My Huskies – Purina Pro Plan Large Breed Puppy Food!
I’ve been using Purina Pro Plan Large Breed Dry Puppy Food for a while now, and my Huskies absolutely love it! The Chicken and Rice Formula is perfect for keeping her energized, and they can’t get enough of it.One thing I’ve noticed is that it helps keep their stool firm. No more dealing with runny stool, which is a huge plus! It’s great to see a brand that not only keeps my dog’s digestive system happy but also supports overall health. The 34 lb. bag on Amazon is a real steal. In stores, the same size is way more expensive, so this is definitely the best value. Plus, my dogs have shiny coats and don’t have that “doggy” smell, which is a big win!The kibble size is also perfect for large breeds like my Husky – not too big, not too small. It’s a great all-around choice for anyone with a growing puppy, and I highly recommend it!

Good for my German shepherd
My 8 month old German shepherd is thriving on this food. His parents/ siblings get hot spots on grain and chicken. Hes only had a healthy shiny coat with the salmon and rice. Definitely worth the buy for him.

This formula has worked wonderfully
My large-breed puppy has a sensitive stomach, and this formula has worked wonderfully. The salmon protein is easy to digest, and I noticed firmer stools and no upset during the transition. He loves the taste and finishes every meal. After a few weeks, his coat is shinier, and he scratches less, which tells me the skin/coat benefits are real. The kibble size is perfect for a growing pup, though the salmon smell is stronger than chicken-based foods. It’s a little more expensive and the bag isn’t resealable, but the quality and results are worth it. Highly recommend for large-breed puppies with sensitive skin or stomach issues.

Great value and recommended by my vet
This food is the same price as my local store, but Amazon offers a bigger bag, so I end up getting more for my money overall. I don’t know all the ins and outs of dog food, but several people — including my vet — recommended this brand, so I decided to try it.My pup seems to really like it, and so far we’ve had no tummy issues at all. The convenience and value make it an easy choice, and I feel good knowing it’s something professionals trust.

Working great
Every few months I have to purchase this from amazon to tide me over until my monthly Purina for Professionals order can come. I put my 9 week old Borzoi puppy on this as soon as I got him and he’s done great. Due to his size/growth and to try and reduce risk of bloat, he is now 1 year old, 82 lbs, and gets fed about 6 times a day with 1.25 cups of dry and 1/4 – 1/2 can of the wet food version. He is doing well on it and will be on puppy food until at least 14 months perhaps until 2 years, it all depends on his growth/metabolism. Adult borzoi eat less but for most, higher calorie food to allow for the smallest volume possible is ideal to help try and prevent bloat in deep chested dogs. Please note, as a veterinarian, I get asked about bloat a lot even though it’s a bit less prevalent than it was 10-20 years ago. As of right now, the ONLY predisposing factor we have confirmed is genetics- if a parent or direct sibling bloats, there is a much higher likelihood of a particular dog suffering a similar occurrence. Feeding elevated and preventing activity DO NOT reduce the risk of bloat! A recent study took dogs and fed them large meals and then crated some of the dogs and turned the others out to exercise freely. Those that were not crated had a smaller occurrence of bloat. So we clearly don’t have all the answers but it makes sense not to allow them to put an enormous amount of food and water in their stomach all at once.Since bloat is serious and can quickly turn into GDV which is deadly within hours, prompt emergency attention if there is excessive salivation, enlarged abdomen, vomiting/diarrhea etc is imperative! As far as how much to feed, the guidelines on any bag of food are a broad recommendation only! Be comfortable assessing your pet’s body condition score and remember growing puppies need increasing amounts of food weekly and eat to meet caloric requirements.

I have a monthly subscription for this dog food! My dog loves it, she’s an irish wolfhound/great dane mix. She has been on this since she was a puppy (she’s 1 year 3 months now) and no issues at all! The vet said shes perfect weight, joints and everything look awesome. I’m going to keep on this food until i have to switch to adult!I recommend this for any large breed dog!

My Pressa Canario puppy has a very sensitive stomach; this food was a game-changer and still bulks them up at the same time. Some people have asked if the salmon makes his breath smell. No, not one bit!I would recommend this brand of food in general; it is great for dogs, has great ingredients that are healthy and help your pup grow, and it has great reviews from my vet’s office, too! All the staff like this brand! And it won’t break your bank!

Vet recommended and my pup is thriving!Purina Pro Plan Puppy Food has been amazing for my large breed puppy. I love that I can order it on Amazon and have it delivered within a day—super convenient when I’m running low on food. This was the brand our vet recommended, and I can see why. It has all the essential nutrients a growing puppy needs, and my dog has been doing so well on it.His coat is silky smooth and shiny, and his digestion has been great—poops are solid and small, which is a big deal for a larger breed! He loves the taste too, which makes feeding time easy.I feel confident knowing I’m giving him a food that keeps him healthy and happy. Definitely sticking with this!
