Doesn’t work as well as older model
I had the older model and had no problems with it. After a couple years it stopped charging so upgrades to this version. The new GPS has fallen off his collar multiple times. It will just become unclipped. Luckily the other times before I found it in the house on the floor. This time it must be in the yard. I pushed find my pet thinking the gps should alert me to the whistle (since if it was my pet that’s how I would find him)Well it will not connect the Bluetooth or even give alerts. Makes me worry if my pet was missing I wouldn’t be able to actually track him. So now we are one battery whistle down and not sure if it actually works as well as the older version. Do not like the click effect since it has come unattached multiple times.Ended up only lasting until December so stopped working after 5 months.

The only true health tracker…
I’ve looked high and low for a collar that has real life health tracking. This is the only one. The product itself has some issues, don’t get me wrong, but the interface and the data is spectacular! It’s a great looking collar. The battery life could be a little better, but I bought a couple extra and just swap and charge everyday and it seems to be working. I know how much water the dogs are drinking, food consumption, locking, scratching, any physiological changes.. also I’m not sure why they don’t advertise this more but this product is made by MARS pet, which is HUGE and the data and technology they have access too is far superior to a small company.

Per a Whistle Rep – Won’t work because of common household items nearby
Overall, I like the whistle collar. Great battery (lasting weeks), location is fairly precise, and metrics that are captured are mostly accurate. It’s nice to have a product that will monitor my pets scratching habits, as well as show what averages are for similar breeds in other categories. Great graphical user interface, simple to use and the calories and distance run totals are a nice touch. The Bad – Not capturing all data and supportData (in general) is awesome, as long as it’s accurate. One of the metrics I noticed was off, was my pups sleep. I noticed that when he slept in his kennel overnight, everything logged perfectly. If he slept outside of it, on the carpet, in his other bed, pretty much anywhere else, (2-3 hour naps) those did not capture at all. I contacted support to see if we can troubleshoot the problem, as with a puppy, their naps are half of their daily sleep and if those metrics are wrong, the system is telling me inaccurate info around his sleep patterns. I expected some basic troubleshoot questions like “is the collar too lose and are the sensors getting skin contact, how long are the naps because they might not trigger the sleeping metric to begin tracking, try a reset, etc…”. I got none of that, and was immediately told it was the metal around his cage. No matter how many times I explained that was the data that logged perfectly (when he slept overnight in his cage) and it was everywhere else, that was the same answer I kept receiving. Eventually I got a replacement, and still had the same problem but I gave up on following up as I was getting the same answer or generalized FAQ links.A bit later an NPC survey was sent to me, in which I explained I was not happy with the support I received and felt like they were just trying to get rid of my question and close the ticket. An individual contacted me to again tell me the same thing, and stated “We are aware that certain things can cause interference with our device. Again, it could be any appliance, if the kennel is close, etc. Something in the area of where you put your pet down for naps, is causing interference.” – So even by their own admittance that this product might not work because of random interference, a customer experience lead (ironically) continued to reach back out to me to tell me this was actually a “customer education” issue. While I feel super educated now, the data still doesn’t capture, and his sleep metrics are still off. I gave up as I’m just hoping a firmware release in the future fixes it. Still happy with the product, the development and design team did a nice job. So all of this probably won’t matter to most, but if you’re a data nerd like me and have random household items in your house, this might not be the product for you.

Horrible customer service
You have to pay for a years subscription before you can do anything, including simply hook the collar to your Wi-Fi and set things up on the app. I could not get it to connect to my Wi-Fi and reached out to customer service. They emailed me a list of things to check on my router and the email said to respond to let them know if it worked or if I needed further help. I did everything on the list and emailed them back. It’s now been almost a week and no follow up or answer to my email. I returned the collar and cancelled my subscription so the refund will be issued eventually. I ended up order a Tractive instead. The battery life on that one is horrible but the accuracy is on point. It’s led me straight to my Bengal a couple times already.

Good for my boy, Max
I love being able to see what my dog does during the day. I’ve discovered that I don’t walk him enough. He’s a happy pitbull and he loves to go for walks and it gave me a suggestion as to how much he needs to exercise. He’s in great health, but I don’t walk him enough. Thanks to the app he’s now getting great exercise and if needed I could always send the info to my vet. Thank you so much for this product! Anything that makes my boy happy makes me happy.

Pretty good but, it’s made of plastic and it breaks. Twice in two years.
I am buying my Third Whistle now. It’s made of plastic and it breaks. I bought two others in two years and now I’m buying a third. I don’t know why they can’t put it in better plastic or metal so that last longer. It’s a real shame.I don’t know why they can’t put it in better plastic or metal so that last longer???

Waste
The collar quit working after 3 months. I called customer service. The kept saying it was my WiFi. I called my internet company and they checked everything. It was not my my WiFi. The would not replace the collar. I asked for a supervisor and they would not get on the phone. What kind of customer service is that. So I am out $150.00 plus they do not refund on subscription. Don’t waste your money.

This system is very accurate and reliable.
We live in rural WV. Our Border Collie will chase deer off our 20 acre homestead. She has gone over 2 miles in less than an hour. The Whistle sends alerts when our collie leaves the bubble. The GPS accuracy is incredible. We have used our side by side and truck to find her. The GPS tracker takes us to her exact location. In my opnion, works better than advertised.
